The Second Amendment Safe comes with high-quality physical protection: 12-ga. steel with a 5/16”-thick anti-drill plate and loads of reinforcement protect the front door. The 2A Safe also gets fourteen deadbolts handled by a chromed tri-handle. It’s the typical digital lock with UL certifications up front, but an optional mechanical lock can be ordered instead. The Second Amendment is UL-certified to provide 1 hour of fire protection at 1,700 degrees (F). An anti-tamper relocker and anchors for the floor finish off Blue Dot’s biggest safe.

Inside, there’s endless storage for over 20 long guns and at least 8 pistols which is why it made the Best Types of Gun Safes list. You can easily fit a few thousand rounds and dozens of magazines in here. This safe also gets a full 1-year warranty against all defects or workmanship. You get all this for around $1,100.

Cons

It’s no surprise that Blue Dot can’t ship this safe to everywhere nationally, so some restrictions will apply for rural areas, Hawaii, and Alaska. At 650 pounds this safe will test the structural integrity of some older homes and floors, so care should be taken when planning the installation. We’re also disappointed to see the door hinges seated outside. For a safe this large, this is less troubling. The deadbolts on all four sides of the door will prevent theft if the hinges are ever compromised.
