Why is it essential to have an Emergency Go-Bag? Disasters and emergencies can strike at any time. And when they do, you will have little to no time to prepare. It is too late to start wondering what items you should gather before you feel comfortable evacuating your home.
Have you considered what supplies you want in an emergency? My sister didn’t have the luxury of time to think about gathering supplies when she and her family of six ran out of their burning home in the middle of the night. Once everyone was out, she confessed that she ran back in for her phone. She felt like her phone was close enough to an exit that she could safely retrieve it. Then she watched as everything she owned burned to the ground.
Having an Emergency Go-Bag means filling a bag with three days’ worth of essential items and placing it near the door you plan on exiting through in an emergency.
Emergency Go Bag has many aliases: Bug Out Bags, 72 Hour Kit, Prepper Backpack, Emergency Bag, Survival Bag, SHTF Bag, and several others. Why is it called a Bug Out Bag? Google’s definition of the term “Bug Out” means to “leave quickly,” which is precisely what these bags are meant for. This 72 Hour Bug Out Bag Checklist is a category checklist.
